South Padre Island, Texas

December 30, 2003 – January 2, 2004

I thought I was going to Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, NC via Richmond, VA. I had already done my homework on the Carolina Inn, the Jefferson Hotel, Hollywood Cemetery, Chancellorsville Battlefield, Duke University, UNC-Chapel Hill, etc. I was ready to go; I knew what to expect! 

Then it happened: I was told I was going to South Padre Island, Texas!? Where the Hell, what the Hell, is South Padre Island Texas? I was told it was warm, a big Spring Break destination, and a good place to buy more swimsuits. Well, that was all I needed to know: I was ready to go; I knew what to expect! 

I stayed at the Radisson Hotel. Great pool. Great views. I drank “Hammerheads,” went to the beach, sat around the pool, bought swimsuits, and just relaxed! 

I posted some pictures (below) of me in my new swimsuits. Naturally, I think I ate too much over the Holidays and think I look way too fat, Oh, well…
